Children & Family Counseling
Every child brings their own story, shaped by their development, experiences, and family life. In my work, I focus on understanding the whole child—not just what’s happening on the surface, but what’s going on underneath. I help children make sense of their world and their feelings, guiding them toward new ways of thinking, coping, and connecting. As we work together, I also partner with caregivers to create a home environment that nurtures emotional growth and healing. Our sessions include hands-on strategies that support positive behavior changes, emotional resilience, and stronger bonds between parent and child.
Using play, especially through expressive arts, allows kids to express what might be difficult to say with words. It’s a safe space for them to process emotions and learn new ways to connect with their feelings and with others. Overall, my goal is to bring more peace and understanding, helping both the child and the family move toward a place of healing.
Play-based counseling is a powerful tool to help children express their thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a way that feels natural to them, through play. Since children may struggle to articulate complex emotions, play therapy offers a safe and supportive environment where they can process their inner world without relying solely on words. This approach is particularly effective for children navigating anxiety, grief, trauma, or social challenges.
These sessions incorporate a variety of engaging activities tailored to meet each child’s needs. Through creative outlets such as art, sand tray play, and imaginative storytelling, children are encouraged to express emotions, develop coping strategies, and build resilience. These activities allow children to explore their feelings, practice problem-solving skills, and improve emotional regulation in a way that feels safe and empowering.
